An Illustrated Edgar Allan Poe Biography

For this project I wanted to create an abnormal approach to an Edgar Allan Poe Biography as most of the depictions of his life and stories are very dark, creepy, and sometimes morbid. For this version of his biography I included excerpts from some of his most famous works and custom illustrations. My audience was targeted for everyone to enjoy and would be safe and not scary for kids. Included in the final book were transparency pages (that’s why some of the illustrations appear to have a white background) as I wanted to create a fun and unique element for print. There was also a maroon, pink and blue color palette with a repeating pattern throughout as I wanted to avoid pure black and white in the illustrations.
